Area 1
From the poster, the two pictures on top are showing two different subjects when talking about digital inclusion/discrimination. The one on the left is a depiction of how various information can be turned into ones and zeros that are then stored away. While the one on the left shows how big data and thick data can go together. For instance, when reading the article the complications of opting out it is shown how hard it is to try to keep one's private life as private. While from what we learned from big data vs. thick data by Tricia Wang we learn that programs that just use big data will not be successful enough unless they know what the local community actually thinks. Finally with the picture at the bottom is showing is how game design and culture can go together. Never alone was built to try and keep a culture's stories relevant as well as entertaining to the modern age. To keep the culture going. This all comes together to show that humans are always trying to know to keep their history alive. For some they want that history to stay hidden while others want it to be relevant while others try to recognize what is relevant and what is actually being missed from other perspectives. All in all, though information on life can have many different effects on people. This depends on who looks at that data and history behind it though.
Area 2
From my perspective information and history will always be there. No matter what nowadays it is almost impossible to stay out of the digital world. When I read about all the actions needed to be taken just to keep some simple information such as being pregnant hidden it is obvious that it is almost impossible to stay unknown. Companies will always want to have as much data as possible in order to better sell to their consumers. It was clever how the makers of never alone were able to keep a bit of their cultural inheritance alive be sharing it to the world as a game that can is both short and entertaining. We have also seen from Tricia Wang that just having data about a population and not information about the people living there can have detrimental effects. Nokia lost out on a massive market as well as their position in the economic niche they had. Data is always out there and it can tell you a history about yourself. If you want to hide some browsing sessions simply use a browser that does not track it. No matter what though with the advancements with the internet it is best to accept that some information about yourself is out there.

Week 13
Level 1
Never alone is an easy platformer adventure game. It was originally made to keep the native peoples of Alaska's stories and culture still relevant. It is about a young girl who leaves her village in search of the cause of what causes the blizzard at her village. Shortly after leaving her village she is rescued by a fox from a polar bear. Throughout the game, you meet a variety of characters from innuit stories as well as solve various puzzles. You can play as either the fox or the girl at times.
level 2
Now the reason this game can be called an easy platformer for two reasons. Reason one is because the purpose of the game is to teach the people about a piece of culture and to help keep the stories of the past still relevant. The second reason is that there exist games such as cup head, undertale, and "the worlds hardest game". If anyone has not played a true platformer than these are probably unknown to you. Undertale is only difficult when in the genocide route anyways. A platform game usually takes hours to days to complete. By compete I mean to get through the main game and not do every single challenge. Platform games are both easy and difficult. In the beginning, anyone can get it done. As one progresses than it becomes more and more difficult.

Week 11
1. The critics that I got were mainly on visuals. My rough draft is mainly about topics that will have my voice recording explaining the topics as well as why each one is important. The thing they suggested was to add visuals such as pictures. It was also mentioned that a video explaining about copyright in some situations would also be good.
2. I already have a video in mind for explaining how copyrights work on Youtube as well as post some articles of copyright video removal on youtube. Screenshots that say the video is unvailable.

Week 10
Section 1
The article is mainly talking about how police use social media as a data mine. They first need to get probable cause to use some methods but the methods can be used such as using an automated program to search your personal history on the internet. It then gives an example of how police have been using this new information. When two boys of color were part of a crew and got out of it after a first offense they were tried again of different charges based on nothing more than conflicting eye witness accounts and Facebook likes and photos of who they hang out with. It goes on to describe how programs designed for commercials are now used to predict social cues as well as how geotagging is being used to track people who make the post.
Section 2
Now I am all for the police getting new technology to improve their jobs and in turn improve public order. Recently in non-lethal weapon development, an attachment to a gun would launch a small iron ball projectile at a subject that has resisted a taser or pepper spray was being developed. The officers were trained in how to use it throughout the development process. That said the officers need to understand two things with this technology and that is the lingo that people use in areas as well as how to interpret what is said on social media. To use the information a guide and to watch the area of the suspect closely before acting. Any information on the internet is free to gain nowadays and I see it is fine for the police to look at what people comment on and what sites they visit.

Week 8 post
Level 1
The article talks about how Facebook sells its users information. It talks more on how this works economically as well as citing many different sources and people that say the same thing. It also shows the information in political views as well. The article says that Facebook sells its information to advertisement companies. These companies then take that information and send targeted advertising directly to the person. Facebook does this by recording every piece of data the user sends out. That includes posts, friends, and status updates as well as how frequent Facebook is accessed. Politically the article talks about how privacy is judged on Facebook. For socialism the rights of the workers, in this case, the users should be protected and for capitalism, the rights of the producers should be protected.
Level 2
In my opinion, the internet nowadays is a database that once you put something out there it is going to be out there forever. Facebook helps this along with its CEO saying that the goal of the site is to make the world more open. Facebook is used by most as a means to communicate with others on the internet but companies use the information that users send out to send advertisement targeted at the individual level. Truthfully Facebook does not need to send this information to anyone. A lot of people online post how to contact each other online and companies can just look at posts that people send on their own. Facebook is not the problem. It is what people define privacy on the internet that is the problem.

week 7
Level 1
The article is about shooting in Fergeson. It also references other shootings of young black people. It mainly focuses on how Twitter played a role in this incident. The article mentions how Twitter as a social media is a way for the misrepresented can show what is happening to them. It also shows how Trevan Martin two years before this was still on peoples minds as well as older events. The article shows how people posted their tweets with the hashtag symbol. How Twitter can show tweets that were tweeted in the past can be recovered. Such as #handsupdontshoot can be searched and every tweet that has that hashtag can be found. It also warns how you need to be in the mindset of the person who tweeted some of them to get the full message behind it.
level 2
In my opinion, the verdict found by the court was wrong. The way that the media has shown people of color has almost never been in a good light is putting it mildly. Twitter is a social media that shows what is happening in real time during this entire event. The fact is with so much information out there it is hard to find every piece of information that is relevant. It is obvious that Twitter and other social media outlets that can allow people to post their thoughts in as few words as possible will always burn strong. Once a certain amount recognizes it then it just keeps going down the hill. The article shows that the way that we see certain objects and people vary on person to person.
